Prayer To Break The Spirit of Poverty 1
The Spirit of Poverty
The spirit of poverty binds people with a mindset of lack, bringing financial curses and trapping them in a cycle of continual insufficiency from which they cannot escape.
The key to overcoming the spirit of poverty is first to close the spiritual breaches and remove any accursed things.
After the conquest of Ai, the Israelites began to obtain great spoils.
And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king. Only its spoil and its cattle you shall take as booty for yourselves.” (Joshua 8:2 New King James Version)
Concept:
The Spirit of Poverty - The “spirit of poverty” is a dark spiritual force in the spiritual realm specifically assigned to carry out the curse of poverty. It often carries a generational trait, passing from one generation to the next. However, in some cases, individuals may come under its influence due to personal choices or deviations—such as involvement with idolatry or heresies—which allow the enemy to steal from and dominate them. This spirit does not only result in financial and material lack but also leads to a deeper poverty in the soul and spiritual life. In fact, it can even oppress those who are materially wealthy.
Its manifestations include things like failed investments, being swindled, career stagnation, or sudden unemployment in middle age. Often, the children of those affected also cannot escape the same fate. You’ll notice a pattern: they frequently live beyond their means, experience continual setbacks, and end up trapped in debt cycles or living paycheck to paycheck—spending their entire lives suffering under the oppression of poverty.
Causes of Poverty:
1.Not Knowing God and Worshiping Idols Leading to Poverty:
For shame has devoured the labor of our fathers from our youth—Their flocks and their herds, Their sons and their daughters. (Jeremiah 3:24 NKJV)
Therefore I said, “Surely these are poor. They are foolish; For they do not know the way of the Lord, the judgment of their God. (Jeremiah 5:4 NKJV)
2.Fail to Tithe:
“Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. (Malachi 3:8-12)
- Stingy, not giving to the poor, result in poverty:
There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. (Proverbs 11:24)
He who gives to the poor will not lack, But he who hides his eyes will have many curses. (Proverbs 28:27)
He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given. (Proverbs 19:17)
Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. (James 4:17)
- Laziness, love of sleep, and indulgence in drinking and gluttony lead to poverty.
He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich. (Proverbs 10:4)
Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty; Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread. (Proverbs 20:13)
For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags. (Proverbs 23:21)
