Prayer to Break the Spirit of Unbelief 1
The Spirit of Unbelief
It makes people proud of worldly wisdom, despise and disbelieve the foolish doctrine of the cross, and disbelieve in the miracles in the Bible, and scoff at them as superstition. Hazor is the leader of all nations, and disbelief is also the main factor that causes people to perish.
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. (John 3:36)
Among the seven tribes of Canaan, the Girgashites (inhabitants of the clay land) also typify the spirit of unbelief.
Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. (Hebrews 3:12)
Concept:
Unbelief literally means lack of faith, that is, disbelief (lack of Christian faith), or disbelief (disobedience). Faith is in the spirit, while disbelief is in the soul. Unbelief means more than just intellectual disbelief, it also means a heart full of doubt about God and His Word. This may show an unfaithful attitude, a wrong view and understanding of God, and gradually lose hope in God and move away from God.
Signs of unbelief:
- The unbelieving heart thinks only about the natural realm. It does not think about praying for healing, financial provision, spiritual or emotional deliverance, or asking for someone to pray for a miracle.
- Refuse to change. Due to lack of confidence, they refuse to change their minds and thoughts, indulge in the disbelief of the past, are full of doubts about the future, and refuse to accept challenges.
- They are used to thinking rationally and reject God’s supernatural power, such as miracles, healing, deliverance, spiritual gifts, etc. Therefore, in their eyes, seeking God’s supernatural power is illogical and irrational.
- Rely only on sight, not faith. Only believe what you see with your eyes, hear with your ears, and feel in your heart, and do not believe in God's power.
- Arrogance, inferiority complex, narcissism, self-pity, arrogance, boasting, excessive self-esteem, self-righteousness, and self-importance.
- Rebellion, hardness of heart, doubt, disobedience, unfaithfulness, and living in one’s own cognition.
