Breaking the Spirit of Fear 2

Causes of fear

Because we do not love God and obey His words, we have fear and terror brought about by expectations, curses, worries, anxiety, pressure, lies, and deception that are not in line with God’s will.

  1. Idol worship, fortune-telling, occultism, witchcraft, etc. Because of the curses brought by divination, fortune-telling, spiritism, etc.; opening the heart to the power of darkness and accepting related psychological suggestions, lies and other non-God beliefs.
  2. People in authority, such as parents, kindergarten and school teachers, unit/business leaders, community/church leaders, etc., whose expectations are not in line with God’s will.
  3. Diseases. For example: paralysis, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, severe allergic diseases, etc.
  4. Loss events, etc. Loss of education, job, loved ones, failed marriage, etc., weakness and fall.
  5. Disasters and the difficult environment they cause, and the negative impact they bring. Poverty, war, plague, famine, etc.
  6. Words and news: Such as words that are not in line with God’s will, negative words, bad news, evil words, and lies.
  7. Special events and environments. The lack of security caused by special events, such as fear of heights; fear of crowds, when seeing things densely arranged together, it will feel painful and unbearable; not daring to speak in public, etc.; dark environment, fear of the dark, fear of walking at night, fear of ghosts.
  8. Animals. Such as birds and beasts, crows, mice, caterpillars and all soft-bodied animals.

So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” (Genesis 3:10)

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Galatians 1:10)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15)

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:15-16)
