There is no evil spirit that does not lie, but the spirit of lies not only lies, but also makes people lie. This evil spirit makes people blinded by their own desires, accept the lies it tells, and then tell others, and tell them without blushing or breathing, and even they themselves think it is true.

The spirit of lies once deceived a group of false prophets and tricked King Ahab into going to the battlefield and died (1 Kings 22:22-23). A person who is accustomed to lying and even believes it himself may have been controlled by the spirit of lies and become the embodiment of lies. Among the seven tribes of Canaan, the Amorites (the speakers) also represent the spirit of lies.

Concept:

The spirit of lies, the twisted evil spirit - is a dark power in the spiritual world that is false, unreal, and not in line with the truth; even knowing the facts, it speaks words that are different from the facts for the purpose of deception and deliberately distorts the truth.

“Let your statement be, ‘Yes, Yes’; and ‘No, No’. Anything more than this is from the evil one.” (Matthew 5:37)

It manifests as follows:

They say what they think with certainty, and even use authoritative citations to prove that they are right, such as declaring: Thus says the Lord, Thus says the Lord, etc.

"What these see is a false and lying divination. They say, 'The Lord says', when the Lord has not sent them, but they give them hope that the word will stand." (Eze. 13:6)

It will pretend to be an angel of light, caring about your rights, hoping that you will meet your own needs, and making you feel that it understands your situation and needs.

It will magnify the unfavorable and unfortunate environment you are in, and then you will become dissatisfied with and complain about people and God because of your dissatisfaction with the environment, and eventually falls into the trap of self-pity, becoming bitter, unbelieving and away from God; deceived and bound in this darkness, losing the ability to resist.

People attacked by the [spirit of lies] will isolate themselves and will not listen to any explanation or comfort.

Unable to resolve grievances, fond of slander, unable to control oneself, long-term self-pity; blaming oneself, blaming God, and gradually becoming extreme, perverse and violent; making negative choices about things, pessimistic, inferior, no confidence in people, God, and the future, all gloomy, and more serious will fall into "depression" and be unable to extricate themselves.

Causes of lies and distortions:

Because of fear of facing the facts, they relieve themselves by lying, inviting the spirit of lies to come in.

Because some people have selfish desires and ideas that are not in line with God's will, the spirit of lies rationalizes them with comfortable and compassionate words, which are pleasing to the ears, but fall into the enemy's trap.

I am afraid that your minds may be corrupted and lose the pure and clean heart that is in Christ, just as the serpent seduced Eve with its cunningness. (2 Corinthians 11:3)

Do not fear God, do not read and listen to God's words, do not love the truth, do not receive the heart of the truth, do not seek God's will, and want to get things done quickly.

"You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (John 8:44)

How to defeat the attack of the spirit of lies?

We must imitate the Lord Jesus and use God's words to resist it, and have absolute trust and obedience to God in order to defeat it.

But Jesus answered: It is written: Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)

To be victorious, we must firmly trust and uphold God's commandments, and we live for this; we must know how to command the enemy's voice to retreat. When negative and complaining voices come out, you can command Satan to "go away" and "shut up" in the name of the Lord Jesus, which is very effective. But it is better to rebuke it and ask God to send angels to serve you, just as after the Lord Jesus overcame the temptation, God arranged angels to serve Him.

Therefore, we do not rely on our will to win, but on being clear about our mission and obeying God’s word. May you be able to discern the “spirit of lies” today so that you can overcome it like the Lord Jesus and become an “elite soldier of the last days.”
